Values Assessment Tool

Instructions:  Below is a list of words which represent values that may be important to you. Taking your time, go through the list of words and circle the ones that have meaning for you.  Don’t overthink it. Simply read each word (either aloud or silently to yourself) and circle the ones that resonate with you.

Once you’ve completed the first task, go through all of the circled words and pull out the THREE that have the most meaning to you and number them (1, 2, and 3) in order of importance. These are your top three values.

Review each of your top three words.  For each word, as yourself:

  • What does this word mean to me?

  • What does it look like/show up for me in my life? If a word is meaningful but is NOT currently showing up, ask yourself, what would it look like if it did?

Each of us values different things. If you are finding that you value something and yet, you are not getting/seeing that thing in your life, this may be a source of challenge for you.
